Luke Cochran
Luke Cochran, engineer, producer, and drummer is a senior at Mercer University pursuing a B.S.E in electrical engineering and a minor in music industry. Luke work's as an assistant engineer at Capricorn Sound Studio. In the studio of Dr. Marcus Reddick at the Townsend School of Music, Luke studies percussion with a focus in jazz drum set.
As a freshman, Luke began an internship at the historic Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon, Georgia, under the guidance of Chief Engineer and Producer Rob Evans. Honing his skills in recording techniques and mixing, Luke achieved his current position of Assistant Engineer. At Capricorn he gained experience recording and mixing solo acoustic artists and rock trio's to full orchestras. He oversees running sound for all live events at Capricorn and works with exceptionally talented artists in a wide variety of genres. Luke has assisted on sessions with legendary musicians such as Chuck Leavell, Randall Bramblett, Bruce Katz, Brent Cobb, Tommy Talton, and many others.
At Mercer, Luke plays regularly with the Mercer University Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and Marching Band. He also plays in several local rock groups and his own Jazz Trio. Luke enjoys frequent session work at Capricorn Sound Studios and Studio 478.
